Shimano Expands Broadway Modular Tackle Storage System With New Saltwater Reel Storage Bag

Features ‘Intercept’ material for corrosion protection
IRVINE, Calif. 7/06 -- Providing saltwater angler with the needed features to properly protect reels from the elements, Shimano expands its Broadway Modular Tackle Storage System (MTSS) with a new saltwater reel storage bag. A key design element to the Broadway reel bag is the use of ‘Intercept’ material within the inside of the bag to provide protection again corrosion, rust and mildew.
Developed and patented by Lucent Technologies, “the Intercept material provides a reactive barrier system against gases that cause corrosion,” said Ted Sakai, product manager for Shimano’s Gear line. “This new Broadway bag can really be considered an insurance policy to help angles keep this saltwater reels in the best possible condition possible.
Along with the Intercept inner lining, the Broadway saltwater reel storage bag in constructed with a water-resistant tarpaulin outer material and a corrosion-resistant nylon zipper with pull-tab. It has fully adjustable padded dividers for up to create up to eight compartments for reel storage - or other items you want to protect from the naturally corrosive saltwater environment. There are also two separated inner mesh pockets.
Shimano’s Broadway MTSS starts with a main carry bag to transport/store the available modular tackle and gear bags, including a standard reel storage bag, worm binder bag, day tackle bag. cooler/lunch bad and a lure storage bag with unique vertical tube design for big lures. As with all the other MTSS bags, the new saltwater reel storage bag “is another step in Shimano’s commitment to our Gear line-up. We’re bringing new technology and innovation to tackle management products, just as we do and have been doing with our reels and rods over the years,” Sakai said.
